Two Ordnance Survey (OS) Land Ranger maps cover the whole route; these are sheet 121 (Lincoln) and sheet 130 (Grantham). Even better, and recommended, is the Explorer sheet 272 (Lincoln), which alone covers the whole route apart from half a mile near Haverholme, much of which is along a country lane. (The missing bit is on sheet 261 (Boston) but is dispensable.)
Grid references (printed as GR123456 for example) are used throughout the text to aid location of start points, car parks and points of interest along the way. Establishing a grid reference is a useful skill and an easy one to master; all OS maps carry a simple illustrated example.
